Hey Sophomores!

Can you believe the end of the first quarter is already here? This means we are halfway through semester 1!  Our counseling department has been busy working with students as a grade level, small group, and individually in the areas of academics, college and career planning, and on any social-emotional issues that come up.

Mrs. Marriott will be in the sophomore English classes soon to walk students through their class guidance lesson.  During this Sophomore Academic Review students will receive:

  • Personal transcript/attendance record

  • Post-secondary school choices and their requirements, career tech schools, community colleges, universities

  • Student resources: tutoring, library, clubs, sports

  • Internet resources: career, college, vocational programs, military, test prep

End of Quarter 1- Academic Probation
The Quarter 1 Academic Probation list will be generated based on quarter 1 grades.

A student having two or more grades of F or not earning a 2.0 grade point average will be placed on academic probation. Please see our student handbook for more information.

Do you need extra academic support? KHS offers after-school tutorials in the library, Math help in room 48 at lunch, and 24/7 online tutoring through Varsity Tutors (students have this program on their Chromebook).

Reminder! How to see your counselor:

The good news is students have time to get their grades to where they want them to be by the end of the first semester! I want to remind students that they are welcome to stop in the office to see me if they have any questions or concerns.  They can also email, call or use the QR code to request an appt.
